RV

Tips

  • What should I bring?

Our RV's are essentially a hotel room on wheels out in nature. They do have a full kitchen and bathroom, however, you will still need to bring shower towels and your toiletries. You should also bring anything and everything you need for food prep and eating. Things like pots and pans, paper plates & bowls, plastic eating utensils, grilling equipement, etc. We have added "The Complete Camp Kitchen + Towel Set" to our add-on list if you would like to arrive and have everything waiting for you.

  • "It's (NOT) getting hot in here..."

We have found that using the heater installed in our RV's never really heats up to the desired temperature.

As the weather gets cooler, please use the fireplace for heat.

We have tested it in Georgia’s extremest weather and it passed the test every time.

The remote for the fireplace is located right beside the AC thermostat on the Retro RV's and on the Fireplace in Victoria the View.

  • How do I light the oven?

To light the oven in the Retro RV's, take a lighter (not provided by Timberline Glamping), open the oven door, and light the pilot light in the back of the oven while pushing in and turning the dial to the “light” position. A good video tutorial can be found here

For Victoria the View, it is much simpler, just turn the knob to the desired temperature and then turn the striker knob to light the oven.

  • How do I lock (or unlock) the door?

The door by RV will be left unlocked for you at check-in. The locking instructions and door code will be waiting for you on the counter.

  • Propane and Hot Water

Each RV has two propane tanks. The RV's hot water heater feeds off of the propane tanks to warm up the water. If you are running low on hot water, you will need to check the tanks in the front of the RV to see where the levels are. If they both run out during your stay, please send us a text letting us know. (We kindly ask that you do not remove the propane tanks during your stay.)

If you do run out of Propane during your stay, you are always welcome to head over to one of the nearby bathhouses for a nice warm shower.

  • Can I Use the Awning?

We do not permit the awnings to be used at any time. We have had too many guests damage the awnings due to improper use.

Here are some water tips for your stay.

Shady Grove offers electric and water hookups, but no sewer hookups. This means once your gray and black tanks fill up, they must be manually dumped.

We will make sure the tanks are emptied prior to your stay and each day of your stay. If you need to have it dumped more than that, you can always schedule an additional Mobile Dump Tank visit. Just send us a text and we will have them come out. (Additional charges will apply).

Here are a few tips to help you conserve water so that we don’t have to interrupt your stay by having someone come out and dump the tanks.

1.

FLUSHING THE TOILET

To avoid back-ups please flush a little longer when putting paper down. We know that seems like the opposite of water conservation, but just trust us on this one.

2.

BE MINDFUL OF SINK USEAGE

When washing hands and using the sinks, be careful not to let the water run unnecessarily.

3.

SHORT SHOWERS ARE BEST

When using the RV's shower, it’s best to keep it short and sweet! If you want to enjoy a really long shower, you always have the option of using the campground bathhouse showers, which are just a short walk away.
